Back with a new kit build and its one that I am very happy to share. I picked up a kit of my favourite mobile suit Deathscythe Hell. This is the 1/100 MG Deathscythe kit from Bandai. Since its been so long since I've built a gundam kit I've decided to build the Deathscythe the same way I built my first Master Grade kit of my 1/100 scale RX-79(G) , slow and steady by painting and modifying the parts as I build, with a few updated techniques I've gathered since I've gained since I starred building gunpla. Here are the first few photos of the build.
Getting started
Laying the pieces in alphabetical order for ease of building
First sit down resulted in completion of the head and upper torso
I really dig this green enamel on the clear parts it looks so sharp
Paint and panel lined
That's it for the first sit down.
UPDATE 1
So I've started clipping, nipping and cleaning up pieces to be prepped for paint. I started working on the lower waist and the arms for now.
This is after painting
Deathscythe's white shoulders painted and curing
UPDATE 2
I was a little ambitious today and decided to spruce up Deathscythe's beam scythe. I took some of my clear yellow paint and painted te top half of the beam scythe. After letting the pair dry it brought a more transparent look out in the beam. Although it looked very good I had another idea to use some neon green spray paint I have, so I masked off the bottom part of te scythe and sprayed neon paint on top of the clear yellow paint. The beam turned out great, so I pealed of the masked off area and painted the bottom part of the beam clear yellow to bring out that translucency I loved. I also painted the scythe staff gray with black accents and green where the beam pertrudes from the staff. After shading in the creases and muting out the excess this was the end result

I plan to touch up where the neon and clear yellow meet but this is it for now.
PROGRESS
Only the upper arms and top of hands need to be painted to complete the upper torso.
UPDATE 3
During this sit down I assembled the arms and with that came the completion of the rest of the upper torso.
Assembled upper torso
I'm very impressed and proud of how Deathscythe is turning out.
Deathscythe approves with the thumbs up
Lets build him some legs
UPDATE 4
I need to buy more grey for the legs to be completed but I did sit down and clip/clean up and paint the wings for Deathscythe.
Painted wings awaiting final assembly
UPDATE 5
Still needing to pick up flat grey paint to spray the outer leg armour, however I did build and paint the under frame of the legs for Deathscythe.
